As previously confirmed, The Big Session Festival is on the move in 2011, and Oysterband have announced that it will be making its first port-of-call this year at the Beautiful Days Festival at Escot Park, Devon, hosted by Levellers.

A statement says,
"We will be taking over the Big Top on Saturday 20th August for a classic all-day Big Session line-up headlined by Oysterband. This is a great opportunity for us to take the Big Session to another major event that shares much of our ethos - our warm thanks to Levellers and DMF for generously making space for us.

We can also announce that we are going into long-term partnership with a well known festival promoter to build and develop The Big Session, starting in 2012 with a brand-new site that we intend should retain the festival's unique atmosphere and further expand its musical horizons. This is an exciting prospect and we will be able to release details of the new site soon.

On a personal note: during this period of change we have become very aware of the good reputation The Big Session has for the creativity of its programming and the warmth of its atmosphere. We promise we'll do our utmost to keep it special!
."
The Big Session features acts from the roots and folk music worlds, and was always conceived as a moveable feast of music, never tied to one particular place. It has previously taken place in Leicester and will settle into a new permanent home in 2012.

Beautiful Days takes place from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st August 2011 and will feature music across five stages, and street theatre, as well as site art and sculpture, lots of children's activities a huge children's area in the centre of the festival, theatre, comedy, family camping, camping facilities, licensed bars from local company Otter Brewery, world food, craft stalls, fancy dress, a 'village shop' on site, and more. There is plenty of family camping close to the car parks.

Beautiful Days are going to be announcing their headline acts for Beautiful Days 2011 and a few other names on Tuesday 1st March.

An adult weekend camping ticket is priced £110, child (10 to under 16 years of age) weekend camping tickets are £60, children aged 5 to under 10's weekend camping tickets are £30 and under 5's weekend camping tickets are £5. Campervan passes are £35 and car routing/parking passes are £15. There will be no day tickets available.

Please make sure you purchase tickets for the age your child will be when they attend the festival, not their age at the time you buy.
