Satyricon to headline Hammerfest 2011

Black metal overlords Satyricon are set to headline the Saturday night at next March's Hammerfest.

The band will be conjuring a storm of limb-snapping, Norwegian wrath on the main stage in this rare UK appearance, which is a UK exclusive and marks a long-awaited return for the heavy-riffing extremist.

Also joining Satyricon and celebrating the release of their recently released album 'Ravenous', will be Swedish trad-metal stalwarts Wolf.

Hammerfest Promoter John Davis said, "We are really pleased with the line-up for this years event and have seen a massive increase in tickets sales which I think is partly down to the strength of last years event and the fact that all of our headliners are playing exclusive sets for us."

"We are expectingto sell out quicker than last year which sold out 2 months prior to the event."

They join Accept and Biohazard, Municipal Waste, My Ruin, Evile , Gama Bomb, Onslaught, Mutant, Revoker and Attica Rageat this the third edition of Hammerfest, the festival for metal fans run by the people put on Hard Rock Hell and Metal Hammer which returns from Thurday 17th to Saturday 19th March 2011 at Pontins Holiday Camp in Prestatyn, North Wales.

Expect more than 50 metal bands taking the stage across six arenas. There will also be a 360 degree Roman themed, metal experience called 'Roma Victa'.

Following last weeks announcements with regard to Pontins KPMG (one of the largest accounting firms in Europe) who are now running Pontins, have said it is all "business as usual" with planned events for 2011 remaining unaffected.

Weekend tickets, for anyone 16+ years old, are available and include two night's accommodation in holiday apartments. Tickets are available priced from £105 per head, based on a group of seven people sharing a seven-berth apartment.

Tickets include two nights' accommodation and entrance to all 6 arenas as well as free car parking. Only VIP tickets include accommodation for the additional Thursday night, alternatively Thursday night add ons can be purchased for an additional £30.

The apartment structure at Prestatyn offers a limited number of apartments for 2's and 3's. The main bulk of apartments sleep 4, 5, 6 and 7. The more people in an apartment, the cheaper the price of the ticket. Entrance into all arenas is included, check-out 12 midday on Sunday. Onsite car parking included as well as private bathroom, fitted kitchen, lounge, TV, bed linen (bathroom towels NOT provided), and free electricity.
