Fairport's Cropredy Convention have announced a special pre-Christmas VAT-busting ticket offer.

Tickets for the three day event usually go on sale in March but this year in response to VAT on all festival tickets increasing from 17.5% to 20%, the organisers of the Oxfordshire music festival will be offering tickets early.

From Wednesday 1st until Tuesday 14th December festival goers will be able to purchase 'early bird' discount tickets at the current lower rate of VAT and save 2.5%. This will mean a significant saving for families or groups buying multiple tickets.

Ticket prices have not yet been announced. Cropredy VAT-buster tickets will also be despatched in time for Christmas delivery. eFestivals will have links to buy tickets when they are available.

The annual festival of folk and rock music is held on the edge of the village of Cropredy, and run by Fairport Convention. This year's 31st anniversary of the festival will take place from Thursday 11th until Saturday 13 August 2011.

The line-up for the festival is yet to be announced, although hosts Fairport Convention are sure to make an appearance.
