The very first batch of 2011 Wickerman Festival tickets are released to the public on Halloween, yesterday, Sunday 31 October - and for every tenth ticket buyer there's a special treat to mark the Scottish festival reaching its tenth birthday.

The tenth Wickerman Festival takes place at East Kirkcarswell Farm in Dumfries & Galloway with the first batch of adult weekend tickets held at the 2010 early bird price of £85 for those aged aged 13+. Every tenth adult weekend ticket of the first batch, however, will be sold at the 2002 price of £23. Kids under 13 are admitted free. Early bird caravan, campervan or trailer tent tickets are priced at £25. To buy, click here.

No acts are confirmed yet for 2011. As well as the the music Wickerfans have enjoyed grass sledging, fun fairs, dance lessons, headphone disco, movie screenings, wood carving and even ice skating at previous festivals.

Highlight of the weekend is always the burning of the vast Wickerman sculpture whose presence is a nod to the cult film which was filmed in the area. Each Wickerman Festival comes to a climax with the torching of this specially-commissioned work of art creating the most memorable image of the whole festival calendar.

Helen Chalmers, festival coordinator, said: "With every year the Wickerman Festival has grown in stature, but we have maintained our core spirit by focusing on what we set out to do in the first year, which is to create a community music event that everyone can enjoy."
