Back problems forced Ozzy Ozbourne to postpone last night's concert in Germany at the Konig Pilsener Arena.

Ozzy Ozbourne
The Prince Of Darkness has pulled a muscle in his back, resulting in doctors ordering him to rest for three to four days, according to the venue's website which indicates the date may be rescheduled.

The statement says:
"Ozzy Osbourne feels constrained to call off his concert on the 16th of September in the König-Pilsener-Arena in Oberhausen, because he must recover from a muscle pulling in the back. His doctors have prescribed a rest of 3-4 days.

Osbourne regrets the troubles which for his fans and thanks them for their support. "To my German fans - I am sorry very much that I must shift my show in Oberhausen this week," says Ozzy. "But I promise that I will make up for this if I come again with a great show."

Information about a new concert date will be available shortly. Tickets keep the validity, however, can be returned also at the ticket agencies where they were bought

eFestivals can confirm that despite the back ailment, this weekend's Ozzfest 2010 which returns to the UK to take over the entire o2 Arena complex, London for one day of metal mayhem on Saturday 18th September 2010, will still go ahead.

In an interview with Music Radar, (here), Ozzy's drummer Tommy Clufetos reveals Ozzy has been in 'agonising pain', "I haven't spoke to him yet, but I know he's had some back trouble and I think the doctors have advised him to take a break. He's had back trouble for the last two or three weeks where he's in agonising pain. "I see it because when he turns around to me I see he's in pain but the second he turns back out to the audience he's Mr Showman. He really cares about the audience. The only reason the show would be cancelled is that he can physically not make it. He's a trooper."

eFestivals has been told by organisers that Ozzy will battle through the pain to make the stage this weekend to join the bill that includes Korn, Murderdolls, Steel Pulse, Skindred, and more.

Tickets are priced at £40. 'General Admission' ticket holders will be able to choose between watching the show from seats, or the specially enlarged standing area. Top level tickets will also be available offering the usual o2 seating.

Although indoors, the UK leg will have everything you expect from a festival, but without the temperamental English weather to contend with. Taking over the whole of the o2, Ozzfest will host a 'Village Of The Damned' outside the main arena. Expect alternative clothing, boots, wigs, accessories, jewellery, body art, skull sticks, beads, bandanas and other apparel. Plus a variety of funfair rides, including dodgems, waltzers and more, alongside a host of bars scattered around the site including the Jagermeister truck.
