Loopallu announces breaking acts

Kassidy, Rachel Sermanni, and James Mackenzie & the Aquascene have all been confirmed to appear at Loopallu which takes place on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th September 2010 at Ullapool, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland.

Scottish new band Kassidy are confirmed for this years Loopallu. Having played a series of sell out gigs, and capacity tents at Belladrum and T in the Park this summer.

Emerging Highland talent also heading for Loopallu is Carrbridge singer-songwriter Rachel Sermanni who has been making festival appearances throughout the UK this summer, including playing to a capacity Grass Roots tent at last months Belladrum Festival.

The final new act for the moment is another Highland act currently making waves, James Mackenzie & the Aquascene who released their debut EP 'Frase and Phable' earlier this year.

They join the previously announced headliners The Magic Numbers topping a bill including Idlewild, Turin Brakes, Mt. Desolation, Aberfeldy, Skerryvore, The Bad Shepherds, The Vatersay Boys, Silver Columns, Clare Maguire, and Carly Connor at this small intimate festival which is geared towards entertaining the local community. The Friday headliner is still to be announced.

The festival returns for its sixth outing this September and has a 2500 capacity. Situated in the pretty little fishing village of Ullapool on the shores Loch Broom Loopallu has activities for all ages in addition to the music. The festival also offers local food and drink along with fringe events throughout the village.

Early bird tickets for the festival are on sale, priced at £55 without camping, or £70 with weekend camping, and caravan tickets are priced at £25. Under-12s are free, though everyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult.
