Swedish Prog-Metallers Opeth have been announced as the Friday headliner for Bloodstocks 10th anniversary festival, which happens at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th August 2010.

"We're pretty excited about coming back to play the Bloodstock festival with Opeth," says frontman Mikael Akerfeldt. "Myself and Axe will of course be double-fisting since we gonna cause some havoc with Bloodbath as well. We got asked to play since Heaven & Hell cancelled and even though we obviously feel that we cannot possibly match their magic or fill the void, it will be a like a personal tribute show to the memory of Ronnie Dio. So needless to say I'm honoured to play, it will be intimidating and emotional I believe. We'll deliver as usual of course but yeah, I will be thinking about Dio, that's for sure."

They join a line-up that includes headliners Twisted Sister, Children Of Bodom, and Fear Factory, plus GWAR, Gojira, Korpiklaani, Obituary, Suffocation, Behemoth, and more. Expect Bloodstock to provide a line-up of both established and the yet to be announced unsigned metal bands. For the line-up details of those acts announced so far please click here.

As well as the international heavy metal bands across three stages, Bloodstock offers a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.

Tickets are available and include camping priced at £99.95 for adults and £40 for children, and £30 for a campervan ticket, and £10 for a car parking pass. Day tickets are expected to be on sale at a later date. To buy tickets, click here.
