Joe Elliott's Down 'n' Outz have been announced for the new rock festival, High Voltage, featuring over 40 classic rock, progressive rock and metal acts playing over three stages.

Def Leppard
The Down 'N Outz, fronted by Def Leppard's Joe Elliott, have been confirmed to play at High Voltage Festival on Sunday 25th July. Down 'n Outz are a unique collaboration playing their UK festival exclusive. Def Leppard's Joe Elliott has joined forces with members of The Quireboys to present a host of songs by spin offs of the legendary Mott the Hoople - Mott, Ian Hunter and British Lions.

Joe Elliott explained, "When Mott The Hoople announced they were reforming for a weeks worth of shows at the Hammersmith Odeon I was asked that I participate in some capacity. They’ve always been my favourite band and it's nice to see the rest of the rock world finally catch up and give them their due.

"But, what was I to do? It was suggested to me that the Quireboys would be up for offering their services. This was perfect! A fan since their first album, I loved the idea of working with a band as enthusiastic to do this as I was.

"I decided that the thing to do was play some songs that like minded people thought they would never hear live again, if ever, songs by spin offs of Mott the Hoople – songs by Mott, Ian Hunter and British Lions. Songs that are close to my heart, songs that I've played every week for the best part of 35 years on record, cassette, CD, Ipod and now live."

High Voltage takes place at London's Victoria Park over the weekend of Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July 2010.

They join a line-up that has headliners ZZ Top, and Emerson, Lake and Palmer, along with Saxon, HammerFall, Cathedral, Bachman Turner, Asia, Uriah Heep, Joe Bonamassa, Focus, Touchstone, The Reasoning, Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash, Pendragon, Argent, Marillion and Foreigner.
