For the first time audiences attending this year's Summer Sundae festival can take to the stage, as part of a specially commissioned festival song club. Festival audiences will get the chance to rehearse songs on the Friday and Saturday, the participants will then perform a handful of well known songs to a packed comedy tent on the Sunday. The song club is led by local voice practitioner Hannah Brine and will welcome anyone with a love and interest in singing.

Hannah said, "The Summer Sundae Song Club is open to anyone who enjoys singing and would like to say they have performed at Summer Sundae! You don't need to have sung with a group before or be able to read music, as all parts will be learnt during the rehearsals. We will be working on a handful of well known popular songs."

Taking part is easy. Those interested must register before Monday 9th August 2010 by sending an email with their name, contact details, and a list of any previous singing experience to [email protected]. Places for this special event are limited.

Summer Sundae Weekender has since its inception in 2001 it has expanded to a three day, six stage festival, with over a hundred acts. This year the festival will improve and expand the camping facilities, make further investment in The Garden - which has a seaside beach theme this year, The Kidzone, Films and Comedy Tents and The Village areas, and promises more treats to tantalise and entice patrons to celebrate the Summer Sundae Weekender, than ever before.
