Finnish melodic metallers Sonata Arctica have been confirmed for the 10th anniversary edition of Bloodstock Open Air.

Sonata Arctica will be making their only UK festival appearance of 2010 at this summer's festival.

Keyboardist Henrik 'Henkka' Klingenberg said, "Bloodstock is one of the best festivals we've played at in Britain. I can't wait to hit the stage once again as well as check out some of the other bands on this year's killer line-up?"

Having consistently topped the charts in their homeland throughout their career, last year's 'Days Of Grays' album rose their profile in the UK, and they sold out London's Islington Academy.

Bloodstock will be announcing the final headliner on Monday 1st February for the event which takes place from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th August 2010 at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire.

They join a line-up that includes headliners Children Of Bodom, and Fear Factory, plus GWAR, Gojira, Korpiklaani, Obituary, Suffocation, Behemoth, and more. Expect Bloodstock to provide a full line-up of established and unsigned metal bands. For the line-up details announced so far please click here.

As well as the international heavy metal bands across three stages, Bloodstock offers a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.

Tickets are available and include camping priced at £99.95 for adults and £40 for children, and £30 for a campervan ticket, and £10 for a car parking pass. Day tickets are expected to be on sale at a later date. To buy tickets, click here.
