Gojira are the latest act to be announced for this summer's Bloodstock Open Air.

The French Metal monsters will be making their only UK appearance of 2010 at Catton Hall this summer. Having ended last year with a mammoth tour of the USA with Metallica and Lamb Of God, the band previously announced that 2010 would see the band take a time off, but have decided to make an exception to be part of this year's very special 10th anniversary of Bloodstock.

Joe Duplantier, frontman of Gojira, said, "We're really looking forward to playing the mighty Bloodstock Festival for the first time! It's a great line-up and we cannot wait to kick your ass, England!"

They join a line-up that includes headliners Children Of Bodom, and Fear Factory, plus GWAR, Gojira, Korpiklaani, Obituary, Suffocation, Behemoth, and more. Expect Bloodstock to provide a full line-up of established and unsigned metal bands. For the line-up details announced so far please click here.

Bloodstock will take place from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th August 2010 at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire. The aim is to offer a traditional metal event comparable to those regularly seen in Europe (but on a smaller scale of 6,000-10,000 capacity), and capturing the spirit of the original Monsters Of Rock shows which used to take place at Castle Donington during the 1980's and 1990's.

As well as the international heavy metal bands across three stages, Bloodstock offers a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.

Tickets are available and include camping priced at £99.95 for adults and £40 for children, and £30 for a campervan ticket, and £10 for a car parking pass. Day tickets are expected to be on sale at a later date. To buy tickets, click here.
