Finnish folk metallers Korpiklaani, and crazy costumed American thrashers GWAR are the latest acts to be confirmed for next year's Bloodstock Open Air festival.

Korpiklaani last played Bloodstock in 2007. The band's Sunday appearance at the festival will be the band's only UK show in 2010. They are eagerly anticipating their return to the Bloodstock stage, saying "We are very glad to get a chance to play in Bloodstock Open Air again after few years. Last time was our first festival in England and the audience was wild and good as always there. We are looking forward to the festival very much already, and we hope there is enough cold beer like the last time."

After being forced to pull out in 2009, GWAR have been confirmed as making an exclusive appearance on the Saturday of the festival next year.

They join a line-up that will include established and unsigned metal bands with Obituary, Suffocation, Leaves Eyes, Doro, Devin Townsend, and Behemoth playing UK festival exclusives, as well as Cannibal Corpse, Dream Evil, Andromeda, Ross The Boss, and Rage. Bloodstock will take place from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th August 2010 at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire. The aim is to offer a traditional metal event comparable to those regularly seen in Europe (but on a smaller scale of 6,000-10,000 capacity), and capturing the spirit of the original Monsters Of Rock shows which used to take place at Castle Donington during the 1980's and 1990's.

As well as the international heavy metal bands across three stages, Bloodstock offers a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.

Early bird tickets are available until Christmas and include camping priced at £89.95 for adults and £39.95 for children, and £30 for a campervan ticket, and £10 for a car parking pass. Day tickets are expected to be on sale at a later date. To buy tickets, click here.
