Sussex festival offers £20 tickets for BGG ticket holders

Out of the Ordinary Festival organisers have offered ticket holders who hoped to attend the cancelled Big Green Gathering substantial discounts on their tickets.

Stuart Mason, Festival Director of Out of the ordinary festival, said, "Following the dreadful cancellation of the Big Green Gathering, we are pleased to help in any way we can and we are offering ticket holders of the BGG the chance to come to OOTO festival. OOTO stands shoulder to shoulder with BGG, the most inspirational of all green events! BGG has spawned many new gatherings of which we are one."

Big Green Gathering ticket holders can buy an Out of the Ordinary Festival discounted ticket for £20 for and adult's 3 day pass, with a children's 3 day pass (aged 7-16 years) priced at £10, under 7s are able to go for free. BGG ticket holders will be charged as normal for camping and parking. Those wishing to take up this offer must bring their BGG documentation to the festival for authorisation. Big Green Gathering are just putting the finishing touches to a full ticket refund procedure and they will be announcing the details shortly.

Out of the Ordinary Festival which has a similar ethos to Big Green Gathering being fully green solar, wind, vegetable oil, and people powered is a three day gathering set in fields and woodland of the Sussex Downs which takes place from Friday the 18th until Sunday the 20th September.

Stuart Mason concluded, "Out of the Ordinary Festival is a snapshot of how people could live together in a sustainable way. It's a chance for the family to come together and learn something out of the ordinary at one of our fascinating talks or workshops."

"The festival is staged around a modern stone circle that is being built and aligned to the heavens as a working observatory. The main event is sunrise from the centre of the circle along the equinox alignment, it is a transformational experience. Of course we have first class music on solar powered stages, a green ethical market supporting local businesses, healing fields, cabaret, circus, yoga, comedy, performance and dance to enjoy."

The line-up includes Eat Static, Banco De Gaia, Turiya, Bruise, Bobby Mcgees, Meri Everitt, Eugene Machine, Urban Sedated Soundsystem, Weird Sleeping Kittens, PrjctMyhm, The Fork Handles, The Hand, The Laylanas, Ocean Reid, The Yearner Babies, The Adventures of B Violet, Jenny Stanely, Sandy Yidaki, Judge Trev, Victoria Bourke, Unity and Division, 10 Ton Tounge, Pog, Malarky, Wilson Noble, Wide Eyed Order, Gaia, The Wobbly Squadron, New Rising, Lee Harris and River Styxs, and Free Peace.

Entertainments include a variety of live bands over three stages along with local DJ's & performers, fire dancers, circus performers, open mic music & poetry, campaigns, films, drama, poetry, performance, song and dance, a whole host of antiquarian activities and attractions, from tug of war to bellydancing.

There will also be workshops, circus skills, fire dancing, learning how to forage for food, drumming workshops, discussions and forums with some of the most learned speakers on prehistoric culture, ancient knowledge, Earth Mysteries and healing. Enchanted woods, quiet camping, healing and well being. 'Ootopia' returns this year with a combination of healing events and ceremonies, talks and workshops, live music on the Brighton Flux, Radio Reverb stage, healthy food and drink at the ethical market, which will have local foods, wines and ales.

Speakers at the festival include Prof. Gordon Hillman, Andy Thomas, Hugh Newman, Peter Knight, Kate Masters Megaliths, Edmund Marriage, Gary Biltcliffe, Richard Creightmore, Julie Rocka, Holly Paige, and Louis Standen.

OOTO has a zero waste policy, and asks attendees to take all waste home with them.

Tickets are normally priced at £60 for a three day camping ticket, child tickets (7 -16 years) are priced at £10. Parking is an extra £5, and a campervan pass is £15. there are day ticket and two-day ticket options also available.
