Festival organisers have announced the 80's acts will be part of a whole retro themed evening, the first time the event has had such a thing. Festival goers who want to get involved in the nostalgia, can grab their Ra-Ra skirts and leg warmers to celebrate the 80's revival, with spot prizes on the night offered for the best 80's fancy dress.

The live performances on the main stage by The Blow Monkeys, Womack and Womack, and Go West will be accompanied by some disco classics pumped out throughout the evening.

Mick McLaughlin, Marketing and Communications Manager at CV One Ltd, who organises the event said, "This promises to be one the biggest Friday nights at Godiva yet, this is the first time we've gone all out and held a themed evening for the launch day. We have some fantastic live acts booked which dominated the charts back in the day, a classic 80's anthems soundtrack complete with a fancy dress contest, what more could you possibly ask for?"

The Midlands' biggest three-day FREE festival, which attracts over 70,000 people to an eclectic mix of rock, hip-hop, folk, comedy, poetry, and world music takes place at Memorial Park, in Coventry and runs from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th July 2009.

This year's festival line-up will be headlined by Idlewild on the Saturday, with support from The Twang, and the reformed Toploader plus the winners of the Godiva Unsigned competition - Echo Empire, Satin Dolls, Just Morale, and Haunted by Humans who play the main stage on Saturday 4th July between 12:15pm and 3pm.

In addition to live musical performances the ticketless festival will also welcome the annual carnival, a fairground and many more family and community based activities and entertainment.
