Next month's City Showcase will include using a venue in London's Chinatown. It will be the first time ever a gig has been allowed to be held in the area.

Gerrard Street in London's Chinatown will this year host its first ever outdoor live music event to start the weekend of the 7th annual City Showcase – the free London festival held from Thursday 7th until Saturday 9th May at various venues in London's West End.

The home of all things Asian in the heart of London, Chinatown will play host to MC Trip, FireFallDown, Eric Lau, The Xcerts, and Sophie Yau on the Friday.

This event provides public exposure, advice and mentoring, plus contacts that aspiring talent needs, and culminates in a series of live events in venues in London's West End giving musicians the opportunity to perform in West End stores and venues such as the Borderline. City Showcase covers all types of music from classical to pop, from rock to urban. And all types of performers from bands to singer songwriters, from solo artists to DJs.
