Liverpool SoundCity Festival Director Dave Pichilingi said, "We have now got an absolutely fantastic multi-art form programme in place for this year's SoundCity. Having given ourselves a hard act to follow with the top acts that we had last year, we've managed to put together another stellar line-up, I'm sure that once more the bands and artists will be the talk of tomorrow. What's more, this year we’ve also got a whole range of added extras to enjoy."

Liverpool Sound City returns for four days and nights from Wednesday 20th until Saturday 23rd May and is held at the Hard Days Night Hotel and multiple venues and spaces in Liverpool's cultural quarter.

During the days the Hard Days Night Hotel and the Cavern Club, play host to a musical industry conference. Each night there will be bands, DJs and artists performing at many venues, spaces and clubs throughout the city. There will be dozens of parties and gigs, including an unsigned festival featuring new acts coming into Liverpool from all over the world, and parties hosted by festivals and labels each showcasing some of their biggest names and rising stars.

This year's line-up includes White Lies, Black Lips, Clinic, Crystal Antlers, Delta Maid, Johnny Foreigner, Karima Francis, Miko Miko, Red Light Company, Robin Guthrie, The Seal Cub Clubbing Club, Sky Larkin, Telepathe, The Invisible, The Phantom Band, The XX, White Denim, and You Me at Six. In total, more than 400 acts from around the world will play to 25,000 people across 30 of Liverpool's venues for four days.

Liverpool Sound City also features conferences and panels with seasoned veterans and younger voices offering their opinions and ruminations on everything from the classic Manchester v Liverpool debate to the future of music production and publishing. From the 'John Peel World Cup' to a law court trial putting music 'in the docks', SoundCity will take in over 30 venues and welcome more than 400 bands from home and abroad from indie, electro, acoustic, leftfield dance, drum 'n' bass and hip hop. Plus this year the festival introduces rock and emo to Sound City with a red hot mixture of established & up and coming alternative rock bands as well as a new unsigned rock section.

One of the main attractions of the event will be 'The Trial'. A court based concept of conferencing specifically aimed at the music industry of tomorrow. It will be staged in the historic setting of the Victorian Law Courts in St Georges Hall with Judges present, costumes and all!
