Wood festival have announced the first acts for this year, they include Spiers & Boden, Jim Moray, and Danny The Champ.

Other confirmed additions include Meic Stevens, Po' Girl, Stornoway, Jonquil, and Co-Pilgrim. There are still many more soon to be announced.

Tickets are on sale from today, and as last year, kids go free (under 14 accompanied by an adult). An adult weekend ticket is priced at £55 - 3 nights camping and workshops included. Children under 14 years old accompanied by a paying adult, max 2 per adult, still need tickets.

There are also 'Supertrucker' tickets on sale now giving you access to Wood and Truck (25 & 26th July) priced at £110. The rest of the Truck tickets won't go onsale until Thursday 12th March.

The family friendly Wood festival which celebrates music and nature organised by the same people who also hold Truck and takes place in the surroundings of Braziers Park, Oxfordshire from Friday 15th until Sunday 17th May 2009.

Wood runs entirely on renewable energy and aims to highlight green issues and hopefully promote an ecologically friendly lifestyle, with things like composting toilets, showers heated by wood-burning stove and a solar-powered stage and dancing into the night in a bicycle powered 'disotheque'.

There will be opportunities for everyone (from children to grandparents!) to participate, with workshops covering singing, woodcraft, making wallets from orange juice cartons, and everything in-between. This year the festival is introducing an area for talks and debates, a children's tent and people-powered fairground rides.
