Carcass, and Arch Enemy, have been announced as joint headliners for Bloodstock Open Air on the opening night.

Death metallers Carcass and Arch Enemy will co-headline the Friday of the festival and the event will be the their only UK shows of 2009. The two of death metal's biggest names are set to bring mayhem to Bloodstock.

Bloodstock Open Air takes place from Friday 14th until Sunday 16th August at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, South Derbyshire.

Bands so far confirmed for this year's Bloodstock Open Air include Saxon, Candlemass, Sabaton, Satyricon, Wintersun, Turisas, Katatonia, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, and The Haunted. For the latest line-up details and rumours as available please click here.
