'The Boss' - Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band - are to play Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park, London which takes place on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be playing on Sunday 28 June with full supporting line-up to be announced. Main support comes from multi-million album selling American rockers Dave Matthews Band, with their hybrid of jazz, folk and a distinct pop sensibility resonating through capacity stadiums in the United States.

Dave Matthews Band comment on their appearance at Hard Rock Calling: "We are honoured to be playing in Hyde Park this summer as part of Hard Rock Calling Festival. So many great acts have left their footprints on this event and Dave Matthews Band are ready to leave some of its own."

Also supporting are New Jersey’s newest and hottest sons, The Gaslight Anthem. Singer Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem comments on how honoured they are to be playing Hard Rock Calling: "Obviously it's been a dream of mine to play with Bruce and the E Street Band. It's truly an honour, and on top of that for it to be in London, one of my favourite cities anywhere, it's a dream. Plus, it's two Jersey shore locals playing some rock and roll."

Hard Rock Calling is presented by Hard Rock International, and is close to the original Hard Rock Cafe on Old Park Lane, which opened in 1971 and continues to serve guests from all over the world every day. The event features a main stage, second stage and "many surprises in store for music and festival fans of all ages".

According to the press release of this announcement, this will be "Bruce Springsteen’s first ever-festival appearance outside of the United States." Seeing as Bruce is playing the Pink Pop festival in Holland prior to Hard Rock Calling, that claim is bull.

Bruce Springsteen will be back in London with The E Street Band line-up of Garry Tallent (Bass), Clarence Clemons (Saxophone), Max Weinberg (Drums), Roy Bittan (Keyboards), Steven Van Zandt (Lead Guitar), Nils Lofgren (Guitar), Patti Scialfa (Backing vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Percussion), Soozie Tyrell (Violin) and Charles Giordano (organ).

More line-up details to be announced soon along with a major international artist set to headline Hard Rock Calling’s Saturday Night.

Tickets will be onsale from 9am Friday 13 February 2009, priced at £45. We'll have links to buy when on sale.
