Coldplay have been confirmed as the first act to play Scandinavia's Roskilde.

The appearance will be Coldplay's only Scandinavian festival appearance of this summer, and will see them return to Roskilde for the first time since 2003. The group are eager to record the follow-up to last year's highly successful 'Viva La Vida' and Chris Martin and company are currently in the studio working on new material for an album with producer Brian Eno again.

Often mentioned in the same breath as Glastonbury, Roskilde is continental Europe's biggest festival. The festival offers a variety of international acts and four days of music from Thursday 2nd until Sunday 5th July. There are also warm up events which run from Saturday 28th June until the start of the festival.
