Metal 2 The Masses competition for unsigned talent now on

Bloodstock Open Air are offering venues and bands the opportunity to be part of the Bloodstock experience and find unsigned artists to rock out on the Unsigned Stage at Bloodstock 2009 which takes place from Friday 14th until Sunday 16th August at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, South Derbyshire.

The Metal 2 The Masses competition to find the best in breakthrough and unsigned metal bands is offering the opportunity for a breakthrough act to play at Bloodstock in front of thousands. Should an act win the chance to play in 2009 then they will also stand the chance of playing the main stage in 2010.

With companies such as Guitar Hero and Spinefarm UK Records coming on board alongside venues up and down the country who will be holding their own heats to seek out the best in UK metal, the competition is now well under way. Already the second stage organisers have been inundated with bands and venues wishing to apply, but there's still plenty of time for more to enter.

Megadeth
The competition is also offering the opportunity of opening up the main stage the following year. Following in the footsteps of bands like Evile who started off by gracing the second stage only to go on to support Megadeth on a major UK tour and return to grace the Bloodstock main stage in 2008. Could that be your band or a band from your venue?

The competition will culminate in offering 20 slots available nationwide, with the attention being focused on musical ability, performance, professionalism and raw power. This is a competition for metal acts of all genres.

For venues and promoters the Metal 2 The Masses tour offers the opportunity to showcase the short-listed bands of your choice, as well as previous BOA winners at your venue, along with prize draws, free give-aways, promotional material, and the BOA roadshow will be on hand to make it one hell of a night.

For details on the Metal 2 The Masses initiative whether you are a band, or a venue/promoter who wants to present the opportunity to bands in your region, contact Simon Hall the Metal 2 The Masses co-ordinator at [email protected] or telephone 024 7659 7652.
