Saxon
One of the leading lights of the '80s new wave of British heavy metal, Saxon enjoyed considerable chart success including hit singles '747 (Strangers In The Night)' and '...And The Bands Played On'. Their latest epic album 'Into The Labyrinth' will be out on Monday 12th January, 2009. February 2009 will see the band embark on another major world tour.

The other bands so far confirmed for next year include Candlemass, Sabaton, Satyricon, Wintersun, Turisas, Katatonia, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, and The Haunted. Bloodstock Open Air festival, aims to offer a traditional heavy metal music festival to re-capture the spirit of the original Monsters Of Rock shows which used to take place at Castle Donington during the 1980's and 1990's.
