Now that the guitar has come off tour, Tom and the rest of the band have signed it, and in association with Ethicalsuperstore.com they are auctioning it to raise money for the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Ward at St James' Hospital, Leeds. Cystic Fibrosis is the most commmon life-threatening inherited disease in the UK, and kills more than three people every week.
Ben Mawhinney, Online Marketing Manager at Ethicalsuperstore.com told us "It's great that Tom [Jarvis] has given the guitar so much exposure, and we're really pleased to be working with him to raise money for such a great cause." The auction for the guitar, which retails at £815, can be found by clicking here.
Instrument builder Simon Lee dispenses with the traditional, unsustainable hardwoods for his guitar construction, and instead uses recycled plastics to construct the bodies of his instruments. Materials are as diverse as detergent bottles, pirate CDs and coffee cups, and thanks to the natural variation of the materials used, each guitar is unique in both appearance and sound.
