The BBC Electric Proms festival which happens from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th of October has confirmed that there will be a new session entitled BBC Introducing at the Electric Proms, which will take place at Proud Galleries on the final evening, the Sunday 26th October.

The BBC has confirmed that the line-up for the BBC Introducing night will be Pete and the Pirates, General Fiasco, Chew Lips, and Pull In Emergency.

BBC Introducing brings together the best unsigned, undiscovered and under the radar music, artists and DJs from across the BBC. All the BBC's supporters of unsigned music have joined forces to bring listeners the newest artists from across the UK. This gig will also be broadcast on Radio 1 on Wednesday 29th October.

Electric Proms have also announced further names for the Saturday Night Fever night to mark the 30th anniversary of Saturday Night Fever topping the charts in the UK, Robin Gibb will perform alongside very special guests including Sam Sparro, Sharleen Spiteri, and Bryn Christopher with the BBC Concert Orchestra in London's Roundhouse. Added to the performers appearing are Boyzone's Ronan Keating, and Stephen Gateley, as well as Gabriella Cilmi.

The event will take place on Saturday 25th October, and the following tracks from the album will be performed by the line-up: Stayin' Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever, More Than A Woman, If I Can't Have You, Fifth Of Beethoven, Manhattan Skyline, Night on Disco Mountain, Jive Talkin', You Should Be Dancing, Boogie Shoes, Salsation, K-Jee, and Disco Inferno. Over 60 acts will be playing as part of the 2008 BBC Electric Proms - including performances from Burt Bacharach, Keane, XX Teens, and Africa Express in London and Razorlight, Milanese, Last Shadow Puppets and Tony Christie in Liverpool. For the line-up details as available please

The shows will be broadcast across BBC Radio and TV as well as via the red button. Complete performances will also be available to watch online at bbc.co.uk/electricproms.

The venues for the event are in Liverpool - the Philharmonic Hall, Barfly and BBC Radio Merseyside. In London, shows will return to venues across Camden including the Roundhouse, Barfly, KOKO, Dingwalls, Proud Galleries, and the Electric Ballroom. The festival features separate line-ups in the two cities.
