Elaine Forbes of Tennent's Lager said, "When we launched The Tennent's Mutual five months ago, we asked Scotland's gig-goers to vote for the artists they wanted to see, and for how much, and where. We're thrilled with the outcome: a nation-wide programme devised by fans that celebrates Scotland's great pop music legacy – from Teenage Fanclub to Glasvegas – and that also embraces international names like James Murphy, Hot Chip, Laura Marling and Los Campesinos."

All the line-up of the festival are headlined and shaped by artists elected by members of The Tennent's Mutual, that is, music fans who signed up at www.tennentsmutual.com to have their say in spending this year's seed fund on a series of Scottish live events in 2008. The Tennent's Mutual currently has 3737 registered members. 4981 votes were cast for Season One.

All ticket income generated from these gigs will be reinvested to increase the live fund for 2009. This sum will be fortified by a donation from Tennent's Lager.

Tickets for all The Tennent's Mutual: Season One shows will be exclusively available via www.tennentsmutual.com from 3pm on Sept 12 (9am on Sept 15 for Glasvegas). Members are currently voting on ticket prices.
Tennent's donated a start-up fund of £150k for 2008, with a view to enabling members to devise and programme a series of live shows in Scotland in October/ November this year. So far, members have voted on where to programme the gigs, what type of gigs to programme, ticket prices for the gigs, the introduction of an unsigned platform, and indeed what established, breaking and unsigned acts they’d like to see featured in this year's live bill.
