The first acts have been announced for Concrete and Glass a new event for 2008 which takes place on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd October in over twenty established music venues and galleries in the Shoreditch, Hoxton and Brick Lane areas of East London.

Each venue will play host to the best performances and events by new, upcoming and some established bands and artists. All venues are within a short walk of each other, with capacities varying between 150 and 750 people. The music features over 100 bands in 18 venues.

The first acts confirmed so far are James Holden, Errors, Semifinalists, TV On The Radio, Kimmo Pohjonen, Telepathe, Beyond The Wizards Sleeve, Euros Childs, Eat Your Own Ears, Pete And The Pirates, Apes & Androids, Bodies of Water, Let's Wrestle, Cats In Paris, Frightened Rabbit, Kid Harpoon, O'Death, Port O'Brien, Sky Larkin, and Wave Machines.

Also announced are Jazz Funk Great, Anni Rossi, Barringtone, Bass Clef, Bjorn Torske, Blacktape Records, Blacktape DJs, BBorder Community, Casper C, CMN, David Thomas Broughton, Dead Kids, Ezra Bang (Hot Machine), Fairmont live, Greco-Roman, Grovesnor, James Yuill, Kim Hiorthoy, Lindstrom, Liz Green, Lucius Works Here, Ludovico Einaudi, Magistrates, Matthew Sawyer & The Ghosts, Mechanical Bride, Micachu, Muscleheads, One Little Plane, Oren Marshall, Owl Project, Pilooski + Dirty Sound System, Primary 1, Screaming Tea Party, Serious Presents, Small Town Super Sound, Stolen Recordings present, Sweet Baboo, Swn Fest present, Ten Thousand Islands, The Big Pink, The Local present, The Oscillation, The Real Heat, Younghearts, Threatmantics, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Truckers of Husk, Twisted Wheel, Untitled Musical Project, Vladislav Delay, Wet Paint, and Zun Zun Egui.

Venue hosts at this over 18s only event include Steve Lamacq, John Kennedy, Huw Stephens, Bloggers Delight, Merok, Witchita Recordings, Time Out, and The Stool Pigeon, amongst others.

Plus art exhibitions from A Foundation, Flora Fairbairn Projects, Gerry Fox, Mark Neville, Saatchi Online, Riflemaker, Artprojx's David Blandy, and Manasseh Sound System.
