Sparks, Guillemots and Glasvegas for Hydro Connect

Quirky American electro pop band Sparks have been announced as headliners for the line-up on Friday night in the Unknown Pleasures Tent at Hydro Connect festival which takes place over the weekend of Friday 29th to Sunday 31st August.

Also confirmed to play in the ancient grounds of an 18th Century Inverary Castle in the Scottish Highlands are indie rockers Guillemots who will play on the main Oyster stage on the Friday.

There are also more additions to the Guitars And Other Machines Stage bill with a duo of breakthrough artists. Glaswegian based four piece Glasvegas, and Californian new wave rising stars Iglu & Hartley are both set to play on the Saturday. Also joining the bill for the Guitars And Other Machines Stage on Friday is Liverpool based Ladytron.

Appearing in the Unknown Pleasures Tent on Saturday which is curated by Soma with a set will be Andrew Weatherall, Radioslave, Ivan Smagghe, Decimal and Mr Copy who join the previously confirmed The Roots, Dave Clarke, and Beardyman.

The bill for the Sunday in the Unknown Pleasures Tent, curated by Slam, sees the addition of Quiet Village, Neil Landstrumm, and James Holden.

They join a line-up which consists of Kasabian, Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Ros, Paulo Nutini, Spiritualized, Manic Street Preachers, Bloc Party, Goldfrapp, Conor Oberst & The Magic Valley Band, The Gutter Twins, Duffy, Joan As Policewoman, Gossip, Nick Cave's Grinderman, Amy MacDonald, Elbow, The Gossip, Howling Bells, Mercury Rev, The Coral (Acoustic), Roots, The Breeders, Levellers, and Camera Obscura, Sia and more. As well as acts there will also be an enchanted forest party, a chill out tree area and 'gourmet food' on offer, including Loch Fyne Oysters, Venison Burgers, Bumble Pudding as well as Fyne Ales and 70 whiskies to sample in the Whisky bar. There will also be bespoke camping options and spa facilities on offer.

For the green-friendly option you can travel by coach. Coach tickets are likely to go on sale when the event announces the first acts.

Both the car parks and coach drop-off point are a 20 minute plus walk from the campsite entrance, so make sure you don't take more than you can carry.
