The Peth featuring Rhys Ifans and Dafydd Ieuan are to play The Green Man Festival which takes place from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th August in the Brecon Beacons, Powys, Wales.

Actor Rhys Ifans (from Danny Deckchair, and Notting Hill) along with Super Furry Animals drummer Dafydd Ieuan, Dic Ben, Kris Jenkins and Mick Hilton have teamed together to create The Peth who issue their debut album 'The Golden Mile on Monday 1st September. The Peth will preview the album with the release of a single, and The Green Man will be their only festival appearance.

Ifans was briefly lead vocalist of the Super Furry Animals before they found national success. The Peth were formed in 2006 as an excuse for the band members to spend time together in the studio, the album was recorded sporadically over a two year period.

The Peth will be performing on the Sunday 17th alongside the already confirmed Pentangle, Iron and Wine and The National. The line-up also includes Spiritualized as the Friday headliner, Super Furry Animals the Saturday headliner, Richard Thompson and Howlin' Rain (featuring members of Comets On Fire and Sunburned Hand of the Man), Devon Sproule, Black Mountain, Nina Nistasia, and School Of Language amongst a host of other names. For the line-up details as available please click here.

Returning this year will be the campfire ceilidhs, a second stage and DJ tent. The festival will be remaining the same size as in 2007, at 10,000 people. The festival offers plenty of live music with lots of folk and folktronica bands, plus film, literature, workshop and children's areas, and DJs.

Tickets are priced at £105 for the weekend including on-site camping and parking, with children aged 12 and under free. Live-in vehicles are an additional £35. Click here to buy.
