exclusive: line-up for eFestivals Comedy Tent at GuilFest revealed

eFestivals can exclusively the comedy line-up for this year's eFestival's Comedy Tent at GuilFest held at the idyllic location of Stoke Park, Guilford in Surrey from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th July 2008.

The line-up is headed up by 'Mr. Nice' the ex-drug baron turned raconteur Howard Marks who will be recounting his dope smuggling stories on Friday night. Melbourne comedian Wayne Deakin brings a slice of aussie humour to the tent on Saturday, and magician turned comic Danny Buckler will be bringing conjuring the laughs on Sunday.

Also appearing on the Friday line-up are comedians Alistair Barrie, Nick Wilty, Robin Ince, and Mickey Hutton.

Providing the laughs on Saturday will be Lee Canterbury, Martin Soan, George Egg, Dan Atkinson, Danny James, Jimmy Mcghie, and Tom Deacon.

Sunday will see Danny Buckler, Adam Montgomery, Dan Evans, Elis James, Paul F Taylor, Nathan Caton, and Susan Murray entertaining crowds in the eFestival's Comedy Tent.

On the music side the three headliners have been announced, The Levellers headline the opening night on Friday. Blondie will headline on Saturday 5th July. The Australian Pink Floyd Show will be bringing the festival to a close on Sunday. Other acts confirmed include Wills and the Willing, The Egg, Hallucinogen, KraftyKuts, Zucchero, Kula Shaker, From the Jam, Cerys Mathews, Freak Power, The Aliens, Bowling for Soup, Richie Havens, The Damned, Seth Lakeman, Royworld, Babyhead, Sonic Boom Six, and Dreadzone. The line-up on the main two stages will be further filled with more classic and modern acts, more than 200 in all will be announced for what will be a truly fantastic weekend. Unlike some other festivals, you can immediately feel that this festival is being run to give everyone a great time, rather than to get rich quick!

Visitors to Guilfest can expect not only a great weekend of live music, but also comedy, children's entertainment, street theatre, art and crafts, delicious food from around the world and a truly festive atmosphere. There will also be a late licensed 150 foot bar and a cocktail bar, an extensive children’s area, The KidZone.

The Kidzone is packed full of games, stilt walking, balloon modelling, face painting and drawing. On the Sunday it's over to the children for the annual Kids Parade, where the children get to show the rest of the festival what they have made over their weekend.

Tickets are on sale priced as follows: Adults - £40 day, £90 weekend, £100 weekend with camping. Children between 12 – 16 years old - £30 day, £50 weekend, £60 weekend with camping. N.B. Children between 12 – 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged under 12 have free entry with a ticket holding adult. Camper vans tickets are £80 and are only valid in conjunction with an adult with camping ticket.

You can either camp for the whole weekend, or just come for one day. The music starts at around 5pm on the Friday, and noon on both Saturday and Sunday. Music finishes at 11pm on Friday and Saturday, with an earlier 9:30pm finish on Sunday.
