Hydro Connect which is located in the ancient grounds of an 18th Century castle in the Scottish Highlands and held over the weekend of Friday 29th to Sunday 31st August in 2008 has announced the first acts for the festival.

Kasabian, Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Ros, Paulo Nutini, Manic Street Preachers, and Duffy will be playing at the beautiful Inveraray Castle, Loch Fyne, Argyll, Scotland.

They will be joined by Nick Cave's Grinderman, Amy MacDonald, Elbow, The Gossip, Spiritualized, Mercury Rev, The Coral (Acoustic), Roots, The Breeders, Levellers, Camera Obscura, and Sia with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

The likes of Vegas and Club Noir will be hosting club nights in the Unknown Pleasures Tent while the Circuses and Bread Field will be bringing a selection of the finest food meals like smoked mussel risotto and a wide selection of fine drink from around Argyll for the festival goers. There will also be bespoke camping options and spa facilities on offer.

Organised by the same people as T in the Park, Hydro Connect's Inveraray Castle is a spectacular backdrop for the main stage with two other stages providing indie rock, folk, experimental and dance acts, for around 20,000 people, and aimed at a more mature and affluent audience and offers

Tickets will be on sale Friday 4th April at 9am priced at £120 for weekend tickets and £140 with camping and eFestivals will have links to buy tickets when they do.

For the green-friendly option you can travel by coach. Coach tickets are likely to go on sale when the event announces the first acts.

Both the car parks and coach drop-off point are a fair walk from the campsite entrance, so make sure you don't take more than you can carry.
