The Cambridge Rock Festival (previously Rockinbeerfest) has announced the majority of the line-up for the main stage for the long weekend from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th July 2008.

The four headliners for the weekend are rock tribute act Led Zep Too, legendary live band The Blockheads, seventies rock icons Bad Company, and Buckingham based prog rockers Marillion.

Playing on Thursday 17th with Led Zep Too are The Pure Floyd Show, Split Whiskers, and Free Will & The Bad Influences. Friday's line-up see Eddie & The Hotrods, and The Sweeney supporting The Blockheads. The artists confirmed for Saturday are Juicy Lucy, Deborah Bonham, Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash, Tracie Hunter Band, Rattlesnake Remedy, GetVegas, Morph, Taildragger (TBC), and Caimbo.

Completing the list of names announced for the Sunday with Marillion are Andy Fairweather Low, Mostly Autumn, The Reasoning, John Otway, Breathing Space, Medicine Hat (TBC), Touchstone, and Bijoumiyo. There are still more acts to be confirmed to add to the weekend line-up particularly on the Friday.

This is a weekend festival of classic rock with a bit of everything else thrown in (folk rock, ska, punk, blues, prog, jazz rock, funk & latin fusion etc), with the entertainment taking place inside a 3,000 capacity indoor arena at the Wood Green Animal Shelter, Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire and the two new Stages which worked well in the bad weather of 2007 and may well feature again this year.

You can camp from 2pm Thursday 17th July until 11am Monday 21st July. The campsite has a well drained surface for vehicles. There is lighting to the site entrance, exit, the main roadways and toilet area. There are showers in the permanent male, female and disabled toilet blocks in the field.

Expect craft stalls, a coffee shop, clothes and craft stalls and a collectors vinyl & CD fair. All the normal festival food (including vegetarian) is available, from Thai curry to a full roast on Sunday in the centre's own restaurant. This year's event has an even bigger selection of real ales, lagers, ciders, wines & spirits.

For children, there is also a 'Pets Corner' with rabbits, llamas, donkeys and horses etc on the Animal Shelter site.

Tickets:- Adult weekend tickets cost £89 from the 1st July, or £79 in advance. Camping (Thursday - Sunday nights) is extra at £18 per tent. Caravans and campers are £36. The Thursday night Rock Tech gig is open to all festival goers with a valid ticket or £10.00 on the night. Day tickets are also available. To buy tickets click here.
