Glade Festival 2008

The Glade Festival which takes place from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th July at a secret site has announced it is implementing measures to combat a repetition of last year's major flooding, should the heavens open. The site is to have additional roads and drainage, as well as a new water system installed and there will be supplementary camping areas this year. This is just a precautionary measure, as it's unlikely to get a repeat drenching this year hopefully.

It has also named the first acts to play the event. They are Flip Flop, Logic Bomb, Perfect Stranger, Protoculture, Aquasky, Cntrl Z, Elite Force, Jay Cunning, Quest and MC Ken Mac, Rennie Pilgrem, Autechre Black Rabbit, Vex'd, Daedelus, Rotator, Far Too Loud, Fromem Ory, Sketchy Pimps, Subsource, Zub Zub, Albert Joseph, Abai, Spoonbill, Pathaan, Anahata, Liquid Djems, Nagual Sound Experiment, and Zen Mechanics.

There will also be a new stage Nectar Temple which is a US west coast collective billed as a multimedia event stage that will expand the festival experience beyond the dancefloor with such things as yoga, prayer, interactive workshops, art installations, art gallery, music, cinema, artists, fashion bazaar, speakers, thinkers and performers.

The exact details of the site will only be revealed to ticket holders. Expect full camping facilities, car park, licenced bars open until late, food stalls and markets, and more besides.

Tickets will go on sale on Thursday 20th March, expect them to sell out quickly.

The organisers are determined to stop touting, so a name and address must be supplied for each ticketholder, and ID will be required at the gate.
