More early confirmations have been announced for the fourth Wychwood Festival, which is set to take place from Friday 30th May to Sunday 1st June 2008 at Cheltenham Racecourse.

The new acts are Toto-inspired indie upstarts Palladium, the always excellent The Blockheads featuring Phill Jupitus (Phill will also be appearing at part of the eFestivals.co.uk-sponsored comedy line-up) and Simon Emmerson’s much-talked about project of collaborations, The Imagined Village. As well, there's a touch of country courtesy of Truck favourites Piney Gir & The Country Roadshow, and Oxford band The Epstein, who were victorious in this year’s Emerging Talent competition at Glastonbury Festival. These join the previously confirmed Kate Rusby.

Imagined The Imagined Village debuted at WOMAD this summer. They feature Wychwood favourite Eliza Carthy and her father Martin Carthy, alongside the likes of Billy Bragg, Sheila Chandra from Transglobal Underground, Andy Gangadeen from The Bays, Francis Hylton, Johnny Kalsi from The Dhol Foundation, Barney Morse Brown, Sheema Mukherjee and Chris Wood, with this project promising to be a highlight of next year’s festival experience and is not to be missed. To find out more about The Imagined Village please visit http://imaginedvillage.com.

Following Wychwood's pledge to stage more comedy in 2008, the line-up continues to grow. As previously announced, Andy Smart will be curating the comedy at Wychwood and joining him and Phill Jupitus in their improvisation show will be Dave Johns and Stephen Frost. Appearing separately, in his own stand up show, will be Perrier Award Nominee and multifaceted comedian, broadcaster and author Jeff Green.

As a festive treat to Wychwood Festival goers of old as well as new members to the Wychwood family, festival-organisers have teamed up with Ticketmaster and festival partners Pimms and the Wickwar Brewing Company, to offer a very special and very limited Christmas ticket offer on full weekend tickets. For just three days, from Midday on 14 December to Midday on Monday 17th December, the offer will allow festival goers to book their 2008 tickets with no service charge. Not only this but ticket buyers will also get a free festival t-shirt for each paid ticket, and a free festival programme per order (all to be collected at the festival). All ticket purchasers over the weekend will also be put into a draw to win a hot air balloon experience in the Pimms balloon over the weekend (weather permitting). Finally our friends at The Wickwar Brewing Company, who brought their extra special real ales and scrumpy to the festival in 2007, are offering all ticket buyers during the limited special offer period, 20% off all orders through their online shop for orders over £20. Once your ticket order has been confirmed, you will be sent a special promotion code to use and this will be valid until the end of January 2008. This Wychwood Festival ticket offer will finish at midday on Monday 17th December so get in there quick.

If you don't want to wait to buy your tickets, they're available now from here or by telephone from the festival office on 01993 772580. Alternatively, there'll be links for the special offer from the Wychwood website during the offer period.
