The Streetwaves Stage, which was originally going to be part of the recently cancelled Matthew Street Festival, has now been added to the Creamfields bill. The stage will feature 10 bands that have won the opportunity to perform, thanks to a competition run by the Liverpool Culture Company.
The concept behind Streetwaves is to give talented musicians between the ages of 14-25 years old the opportunity to take the first steps into the music industry, get advice from industry professionals and gain valuable performance experience.
Councillor Warren Bradley, Leader of Liverpool city council said: "The beauty of Streetwaves is that it gives up-and-coming artists the opportunity to perform in front of live audiences, and Creamfields will be an unforgettable experience for all the acts involved in this year's competition."
James Barton Cream CEO says: This was the most important stage at the Matthew street Festival, offering young musicians a chance to perform in front of a live audience, this is something that Cream is very passionate about and Im pleased that we are in a position to be able to offer this support, we hope it will be a day that all the performers and their families will remember for a long time to come and Im sure well see some rising stars in the making.
Chemical Brothers, Groove Armada, Kelis, Carl Cox, Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell, Erick Morillo, Harry Romero, 2ManyDJs, Dave Clarke, Sven Vath, and many more have already been confirmed for the festival. For the announced line-up to date for all the stages, click here.
