Download hailed a great success

tickets for next year on sale this Friday

By Neil Greenway | Published:

This year's Download festival which happened this weekend just gone has been hailed as a great success.

Festival Director Stuart Galbraith, Managing Director of Live Nation Music UK said: "The weekend has been absolutely fantastic and ran extremely smoothly, which has been the best celebration of the Download festival’s fifth anniversary we could have asked for. We have made some significant changes this year, and they have all been really successful, initiatives such as the shuttle buses have been really embraced by the fans. There has been a significant reduction in numbers treated for serious medical reason, and there have been no major incidents to report."

With the eFestivals crew enjoying the weekend to the full, our reviews and photos from the weekend online here soon, just as soon as they've recovered.

Download organisers have confirmed that Download 2008 will take place on Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June. A limited number of tickets for Download 2008 will be on sale from 9am this coming Friday (15th June) at the same price as this year’s tickets - £145 for the weekend including camping, or £125 for the weekend without camping. We'll have links to buy just as soon as the tickets are on sale.

NME.com are reporting that Stuart Galbraith has told them that he would love AC/DC, Foo Fighters and Muse to headline the festival in 2008. However eFestivals believes that AC/DC have been top of their want list since Download started, and as yet they've had no luck at tempting the Young's and co to appear.
