12 new acts for Download

plus Korn news, and free condoms

By Neil Greenway | Published:

Another thirteen acts have been announced Download festival, which takes place at Donington Park, Leicestershire from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June.

Newly confirmed are Ill Nino, After Forever, Lights.Action!, The Hedrons, The Higher, Sanctity, Lauren Harris, Malpractice, Cult of Luna, My Dying Bride, Eyelash, and Parikrama.

One of the acts on the bill - Korn - are to play with a unique line-up. With drummer David Silveria currently on hiatus, they have got Joey Jordison of Slipknot to stand in. They headline the Dimebag Darrell Stage on the opening night.

On another matter, Download prove the statement that everyone lies about sex. The festival organisers plan to give out one million condoms for free, "with safety of paramount importance". While safe-sex is indeed important, we think it's a bit hopeful of anyone to be thinking that they'll be one million shags by 70,000 people over three days.

Download features headliners My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, & Iron Maiden (who play Friday, Saturday, & Sunday respectively) plus Wolfmother, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Killswitch Engage, Bring Me The Horizon, Korn, Velvet Revolver, Dragonforce, Devildriver, Lamb Of God, Dimmu Borgir, Evanescence, Motley Crue, Gallows, 30 Seconds To Mars, Enter Shikari, Machine Head, Bowling For Soup and more - click here for the full details to-date, including day and stage splits.

Tickets cost £145 for the three days with camping, or £125 without camping. Parking costs £6 for the weekend if booked in advance or £10 on the day, and campervan passes cost £40. Lockers are also be available, costing £6.
