By Neil Greenway | Published:

The Charlatans have announced a 'home-coming' gig for this summer when they will play Delamere Forest, Cheshire on Friday 15th June as part of The Forestry Commission’s 2007 Forest Tours.

Formed in Northwich, The Charlatans released their ninth album, Simpatico, last year, the follow-up to the highly acclaimed Up At The Lake (2004). Three of The Charlatans albums (Some Friendly (1990), The Charlatans (1995) and Tellin’ Stories (1997) all reached number one in the UK chart. Two albums, Us and Us Only (1999) and Wonderland (2001) debuted at number two. At the end of last year Forever The Singles was released through Island Records and featured sixteen of the bands Top 40 singles, including - The Only One I Know, One To Another, North Country Boy, Love Is The Key, How High and You’re So Pretty We’re So Pretty.

Commenting on the booking, Simon Hough, for The Forestry Commission said ‘We are delighted that The Charlatans are the first act to be confirmed as part of our 2007 season especially as they are local to the area’.

Tickets are £24 (plus booking fee), and go on sale at 9am on Friday 26th January. We'll have links to buy when tickets are on sale.
