two early acts for Wychwood

Country Joe McDonald, & Martha Tilston

By Neil Greenway | Published:

A couple of early acts have been announced for the third Wychwood Festival, which takes place at Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire from Friday 1st until Sunday 3th June 2007.

Full line-up details are expected sometime in the new year, but as in previous years they're promising another eclectic mix of artists. Festival favourites The Levellers are already confirmed as Friday headliners, with the other two headline acts still to be announced.

New on the bill is the anti-war singer-songwriter who played the original Woodstock, Country Joe McDonald, although at Wychwood he'll be performing solo, and fish-less. eFestivals expects us all to be singing along to his "1, 2, 3, what are we fighting for?" song on the Sunday. The second new name is the 'Bimbling' Martha Tilston although it's yet to be confirmed what day she'll be singing her tender songs.

Wychwood not only offers a great mix of acts but a wealth of other stuff too, there's a solar powered cinema, adult and children's workshops including circus skills, music, yoga and tai chi as well as talks, comedy, performance poetry, dance, exotic food and drink, Healing Gardens and Global village.

Unlike just about every other festival, cars are allowed on the campsite for people to unload, then they must drive off to the car park.

Tickets for 2007 are available now - click here - at the price of £95 for the weekend, or £75 for 12-18 yr olds, students, OAPs, and the unwaged. Note that no tickets will be posted out - just present your WeGotTicket reference number and ID when you arrive at the festival.
