Paramore pull out of Reading and Leeds

Sonic Boom Six now open the Lock-Up Stage

By Scott Johnson | Published:

Paramore have had to cancel their appearances on the Lock-up Stage at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festival in the UK this weekend. Vocalist Hayley Williams has experienced some minor irritation on her vocal chords this week, and she has been told that the only way to recuperate fully, is by resting her voice completely.

"I was really hoping I could make it through the first leg of our US tour and get over for Reading and Leeds, but due to the problems I am having with my voice, we needed to take this week off so I can heal. We are really sorry for the change of plans, especially with such late notice. We will be back in October for our first overseas headlining tour and we look forward to making it up to you."

Sonic Boom Six will now open the Lock-up Stage at Reading on Saturday and Leeds on Sunday with Captain Everything! and Adequate Seven moving up the bill.

The Carling Weekend: Reading Festival takes place at Little Johns Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, and The Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival takes place at Bramham Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire. Both festivals happen on Friday 25th to Sunday 27 August.

Love Not Riots The Reading and Leeds festivals will have a line-up that includes Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Pearl Jam, Kaiser Chiefs, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arctic Monkeys, The Streets, Feeder, Placebo, My Chemical Romance, Slayer, Primal Scream, The Raconteurs, Maximo Park, Dizzee Rascal, Coheed & Cambria, The Rakes, and loads more, with many more still to be confirmed. Weekend tickets for both sites have sold out, but you can still buy day tickets for the Saturday at Leeds and the Friday at Reading (click here).
