Over 4000 artists submitted their tracks for the ‘Road to V’ competition, where the winning artist would get the chance to open the Channel 4 stage at this year’s V Festival held at Weston Park, Staffordshire and Hylands Park, Chelmsford this coming weekend.

14 Finalists were selected to play at the Islington Academy and Liverpool Academy, with the two winners being announced yesterday as Keith and Bombay Bicycle Club.

Keith will open the Channel 4 Stage at Staffordshire on the Saturday and Chelmsford on the Sunday while Bombay Bicycle Club will open the same stage at Chelmsford on the Saturday and at Staffordshire on the Sunday.

They join a line-up that includes headliners Radiohead, and Morrissey, plus Faithless, Beck, Kasabian, Paul Weller, Keane, Editors, Groove Armada, Bloc Party, Fatboy Slim, The Charlatans, The Ordinary Boys, The Go!
