Global Gathering are making sure that when it does rain at the festival, it will be something a bit different. Instead of being plagued by typical summer showers festival-goers will be rained on by thousands of beautiful flowers. A Dutch company called Flower Rain will host three flower drops over the site. A helicopter will fly 200 metres above the Long Marston Airfield, pouring out roughly 100,000 chrysanthemums and anemone’s each time on crowds below, with the intention of giving them a surge of happiness as they watch them fall slowly to the ground

William Willems, the man behind the idea said "This is the first time we are bringing the blossom rain to the UK and our missions is to spread love joy and amazement over the good people at Global Gathering."

The festival - now in it's sixth year - takes place over two nights - Friday 28th & Saturday 29th July, entertaining up to 50,000 people.

Headliners for the weekend include Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada and an exclusive UK appearance from Daft Punk. There's also Tiesto, Sasha, Deep Dish, Erick Morillo, Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Armin Van Buuren, Pete Tong, John Digweed, Steve Lawler, Jeff Mills, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Lisa Lashes, Roni Size, Eric Prydz, Plump DJs, and loads more - click here for the full details.

The entertainment runs on the Friday from 5pm until 2am, and on Saturday from 2pm until 6am. As well as the music there's The Urban Village with Hip-Hop DJs, Skate Ramps, BMX Riders, Break Dancers and Graffiti Artists, extreme rides in the fairground, a late night lap dancing club, and a cinema.
