three more for Electric Picnic

Gnarls Barkley, Amadou & Mariam, and The Skatalites

The Electric Picnic, which takes place at Stradbally Hall Estate, Co Laois, Eire (less than an hour from Dublin) on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd September has announced more three more acts to play across the weekend.

Newly confirmed are hot newcomers Gnarls Barkley, plus BBC Radio 3 World Music Award winner Amadou & Mariam, and those excellent ska legends Skatalites.

Other acts already confirmed to play over the weekend are Basement Jaxx, Massive Attack, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Groove Armada, Antony and the Johnsons, DJ Shadow, Damien Rice, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Frames, Devendra Banhart, Super Furry Animals, Belle & Sebastian, Rufus Wainwright (solo), Bloc Party, Alabama 3, The Rapture, Mad Professor, Saul Williams, Tom Vek, Gang of Four, David Kitt, The Boy Least Likely To, Jim Noir, Rachid Taha, Elbow, Graham Coxon, Deus, The Rags, The Dublin Gospel Choir, Blue Nile, and Gary Numan. There's of course still more to be announced.

Along with the music there's alternative therapies & workshops, burlesque theatre and cabaret from Lost Vagueness, comedy, face-to-face interviews with some of the acts performing over the weekend, a silent disco, and a cinema.
