Wychwood adds more acts

plus a silent disco!

By Neil Greenway | Published:

Wychwood Music Festival - which takes place at Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire from Friday 2nd until Sunday 4th June 2006 - has confirmed many more acts for across the weekend, and more!

In common with many events this year after last year's success at Glastonbury, Wychwood is to have a silent disco. Here's hoping that the already confirmed Mr Scruff and the newly confirmed Gilles Peterson (who appears with Ed Motta) will take a turn on the decks.

And also like Glastonbury, Wychwood has a stage called The Other Stage. On the Friday there's The Divine Secret, Abie Budgen, Karen David, Lowri Evans, Gren Bartley, while Satuday has Ralfe Band, 3 Daft Monkeys, Vince Freeman, Captain Paranoid and The Delusions, Mr. Love & Justice, Megson, Skankt, Two Man Ting, Rachel By the Stream, and Asher Band. On Sunday there's Ska Daddy, Bloco Electro, Sefton, Tandara Mandara, Quiet Men, Malthouse Passage, Lautrec and Jeff Martinez.

Other new confirmations are for the Big Top Stage with Gilles Peterson + Ed Motta, and Tunng added to the Saturday, and Catherine Howe, and Gasworks added to the Sunday.

They join a line-up that includes BBC World Music Award winners Amadou & Mariam, The Saw Doctors, Billy Bragg, Eliza Carthy special collaboration with Salsa Celtica, Polar Bear, Dreadzone, The Bays, Seth Lakeman, Mr Scruff, Peatbog Faeries, Banco de Gaia, The Handsome Family, Chris Difford, Aberfeldy, Sophie Solomon, and loads more - click here for all the details so far.

Tickets are on sale, priced at £85 for an adult ticket including camping, and tickets for 11-18 year-olds are priced at £70 for the weekend including camping. To buy, click here.
