Ashton Court asks for demos

By Neil Greenway | Published:

Organisers of this year’s Orange Ashton Court Festival - which takes place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of July (a week later than usual) - are now inviting musicians, performers and bands to send in their demos.

This is an opportunity for performers to send in their entries for the event and show organisers what they can do. All applications need to be sent via post – no emails or web links can be accepted. And any music should be sent in on CD, (although cassette is also allowed) and should contain between three and five tracks. The applications should also contain a brief biography as well as contact details.

Performers not able to send in a demo, should send detailed documentation of their performance or workshop, as well as a biography and contact details. The address to send demos to is:
The Music Committee,
Ashton Court Festival,
1 Ninetree Hill,
Stokes Croft,
Bristol BS1 3SB.
There are eight main stage areas for performers to perform on, and these include the main and amphitheatre stages, the blackout, global and acoustic marquee, the bigger top and the performing arts area.

If you are interested in applying for this year’s festival, the deadline for applications is Friday 31st March 2006. The line-up for this year’s event will then be finalised by 15th May, and an official announcement made some time after.

To find out more information about who to address your application forms to, visit the festival’s website, then click on performers.
