The Psychedelic Furs are back! According to a fan site - but not yet confirmed by the organisers - they're to play their first UK gig since 1991 at Wireless Music Festival in London's Hyde Park on Friday 24th June, as one of the acts for the day headlined by New Order.

Probably best known for 'Pretty In Pink' - but with far better songs - The Psychedelic Furs split in 1991 and moved on to other projects. They've been playing live in the USA again since 2000, but have yet to cross the water for a UK performance.

This writer - who last saw them when they headlined Glastonbury Festival in 1986 - is now torn as to whether to spend the Friday at Glastonbury or Hyde Park.

Wireless has New Order, plus Moby, The Dresden Dolls, The Bravery, Graham Coxon, Fischerspooner, Hard-Fi, Rilo Kiley, The Dears and more on Friday 24th, with Basement Jaxx headlining Saturday 25th, Keane on Wednesday 29th, and Kasabian on Thursday 30th.
