first acts for Carling Weekend: Reading & Leeds

The first announcement has been made for the Carling Weekend: Reading & Leeds festivals, which take place from Friday 26th until Sunday 28th August at Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire and at Bramham Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

The Friday at Reading, and the Saturday at Leeds has Pixies with their only confirmed dates for this year, and they'll be joined on the Main Stage by The Killers, Queens of the Stone Age, The Coral, and Elbow. The NME/Radio 1 Stage has Kasabian, and - playing their only UK festival - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

The Saturday at Reading, and the Sunday at Leeds has Foo Fighters, joined on the Main Stage by Kings of Leon, Razorlight, The Charlatans, and Jimmy Eat World. The NME/Radio 1 Stage has The Tears, Babyshambles (anyone want to run a book on whether they'll turn up? ), and The Arcade Fire.

The Sunday at Reading, and the Friday at Leeds has Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson, Incubus, Iggy & the Stooges, and NOFX on the Main Stage. The NME/Radio 1 Stage has Bloc Party and The Futureheads.
