U2 tickets on sale

Pride (in the name of ..... money?)

By Neil Greenway | Published:

Tickets have gone of sale this morning for U2's Vertigo tour.

Grannies everywhere are currently up for sale (but who buys 'em? Wayne Rooney?:-), and banks are reporting a huge surge in overdraft requests.

U2 - thought of by their fans as a band of the people, and a band with a strong ethical bent - have just shown that when it comes down to it, they love to get filthily rich off their fans just as much as the next band. Still, we're sure that the Irish economy will appreciate the huge surge in "exports" and foreign currency that the tour will add.

All this does prove one thing: when Bono stands up in front of world leaders demanding they make poverty history, he's truly speaking from the heart (about his own risks of poverty, anyhow;-). Share the wealth ... with Bono and friends, personally.

Tickets are on sale now, for silly money ... we'd hate to make you think it wasn't good value, but have you ever considered a day ticket to a festival instead? You'd get much more, and for less!

It's likely that extra shows will be added when these first ones have sold out.
