Reading Festival sets to be available for download

By Neil Greenway | Published:

Reading and Leeds festivals organisers Mean Fiddler have just announced a deal with Universal Records, which enables them to offer downloads of live performances of Universal artists from any Mean Fiddler music venue or festival.

The agreement, which is subject to artist approval, is the first of its kind in the UK, enabling music fans to legally download recorded live sets through the internet.

We understand that currently around 50% of the Universal* artists performing at Reading Festival this coming weekend have signed up to make their tracks available, and that a minimum of 3 tracks per band will be available. They're expected to be available for purchase and download next week.

Each track will cost between 99p and £1.50, depending on the track and the payment method.
