Jet have had to cancel their appearance at V Festivals this weekend. The statement issued by V is given in full below.
Regrettably, Jet will no longer be performing at the V Festival this weekend.
Sadly, Mr John Cester, father of Jet's Nic And Chris Cester, died earlier this week. Therefore, the difficult decision has been reached to cancel the band's performance on the NME stage at this year's V Festival.
Jets management request that at this dreadfully difficult time that the privacy of Nic and Chris, and their family and friends is respected.
Denis Desmond, V Festival organiser: Our sincere and heartfelt sympathy extends to Nic, Chris and the Cester family. It is regrettable that Jet will not be appearing but we and their fans will completely understand their decision.
The band will not make any further statements at this time.
V Festival can confirm that Jet will not be replaced.
