Improved measures in place at last years festival resulted in a dramatic drop in crime, and this years crime reduction strategy again includes a greater number of police, stewards, and security officers who are there to help promote a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. There will also be increased ticket checks in place and enhanced lighting along main thoroughfares, the car parks will be more secure, and CCTV will be in operation on site throughout the event.
Superintendant Graham Yip commented: "Merseyside Police will once again be working closely with Creamfields to ensure that this is the best Creamfields event ever. We are building on last years success which was without doubt the safest yet. As a result of working together last year robberies were reduced by over a 1000% with only 2 reported incidents. The policing operation has been refined over the years with Safety always our priority. As always Merseyside Police will be as visible as possible but in terms of interruption as low key as we can be."
Creamfields is expected to attract over 40,000 people from across the UK, to see Chemical Brothers, Goldfrapp, Scissor Sisters and more live acts, as well as top DJs including Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Erick Morillo, Sasha, Darren Emerson, Jeff Mills, Plump DJs, Lisa Lashes, Justin Robertson and loads more.
